ok, better way to say it might be... uh...
...the clash vs the beatles... with early nirvana as referee ...it's all theoretical anyway... there's something altogether more pop-metal with some of the newer material, and dark folk/blues stylings with the older material i just haven't recorded until now.
but my recording PROCESS and overall sound is going to be A LOT more raw and noisy punk-influenced than anything else, even while being faster and more melodic... so that's where The Clash and early Nirvana come in. i've been listening to Bleach and London Calling for production tips. a lot of this next album will be more single-guitar or 2-guitar recordings. (As opposed to, say, "Sick, Tired, Down" which has 17 guitars in it or something... big wall of sound. but this time around i want to try for a raw, crisp sound.)
in some late night haze i said, "it's gonna sound like a loud fast pop punk power metallic prog grunge crystalline entity fillet mignon bouillabaisse stew hullabaloo root down falcon punch angry salad birthday cake"
