UPDATED - ROSS (Gunshy) DEBUT ALBUM - "Manifest DEstiny" - WORLDWIDE INTERNET RELEASE

Posted by Gunshy - December 18th, 2008

UPDATE - Some formatting issues with the current rear cover text, but other than that a great sounding product. The title is way off the spine. I implore all who buy it to take a permanent marker and write the name on the side. i'm doing mine in silver, to see it more easily.

Yeah, I say it below but the paperback of "Godlings" is coming soon.

A re-formatted (and probably remixed a little) version of "Manifest Destiny" is coming soon. I'll update the link below, of course. If your CD case arrives broken, I can personally replace it for you at no cost.

I'll be publishing a lyrics booklet for "Manifest Destiny" very shortly.

Also coming soon, part I of "The Autobiography of Jesus X"

I've been practicing guitar with new drum and bass arrangements of most of these songs, and i's a lot of fucking fun.

Here's the pitch...

The debut album "Manifest Destiny" has landed! It's out there on the internet right now!

Featuring the #1 hits (at one time or another) "Waiting to Die" and "Four Fucking Chords" and the previously unreleased all-electric version of "Saving Face Machine" all for only ELEVEN DOLLARS!

ELEVEN SONGS FOR ELEVEN DOLLARS!

11 songs right here from Newgrounds! Ok... you've probably downloaded them for free already, but these are the high quality bitrate versions! No reductions oin sound quality due to maximum file size restrictions. The mp3 for "The Brink" is 32MB! Each song has been remixed for maximum sound quality. A drum fill or two was changed, and one song was extended (at the beginning, of course).

OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY

Uh... yeah.

I also have t-shirts and hoodies and stickers on my Zazzle.

I know, I know... it's confusing. Ross? Gunshy?

It's crazy.

I know.

Get used to it.

Congratz! Best of luck...

thanks for buying it. ever singe sale really means alot to me... and (duh) to the future of music.

ZOMG I AM BUYING THIS, as soon as i convince my dad to let me buy it. Its kool though i will end up with a copy. My dad supports me having my own music choice and doesn't mind my music. I just better not ask my mom

i hear ya. it was the same with my parents.

of course there was always that shit i bought or got from friends or whatever that was outside their scope.

my dad borrowed pearl jam's "vitalogy" from me once. nuts.

I'm definitely getting this.

sweet.

Also, Can I have any suggestions about how to convince my parents to get your book? I really want to get it, but I doubt my (very catholic I might add) parents want me to have a book about a school shooting. I was almost convicted of having a hit list before (I didn't, it was just some assholes making rumors) and my parents thought i did.
Long story short...how can I make your book seem like it's going to educate me in some way or form?

hmmm. ross must think about that.
ok.
1) just a point of order: it's not a school shooting. one chapter (somewhere in the middle, via flashback) depicts a lunchroom riot, from which the main characters emerge as the only survivors. but the only actual weapon in that entire scene is a machete. the rest is objects used as weapons or blunt force or bare hands or whatever.
2) sprinkled throughout (and then laid heavily at the end) are strong cautionary messages AGAINST school violence, as well as attempted explanations of HOW and WHY this kind of thing happens in America. so, while the main characters remain pretty unrepentant about their actions, even glorifying them, the narrative itself picks up the moral slack. and then, of course, there's the ending.
3) the book is half-serious, which about fifteen or so pages in becomes pretty obvious (i think). maybe try to think of it like a pie chart cut in thirds: one third is an in-depth psychological character analysis of homicidal/suicidal teenagers, one-third a satire of american culture, especially high school/college consumer culture, and one-third a black comedy, or dark farce.
4) the pie chart thing probably doesn't help. i don't know. i went through a bunch of shit myself in school and could have ended up like these kids we all read about, shooting up their schools, etc... except my mom HATES guns and refused to even let us play with water pistols as kids. point being that i know this story, i know what it's like. this book isn't meant to just be shocking or to capitalize off of the pain and misery of many, many people... if anything, i 'd like to capitalize on my own misery... :) mostly i wrote this book to explore that part of me, where the line was drawn (i guess) between kids who commit these horrible acts and kids who just think about committing them. i was definitely in the thinking category, hit lists and all, but luckily muddled thru. i wrote "godlings" to exorcise/delve into that part of my life, give it some air, and what came out was i think the strongest argument yet AGAINST violence.

+++++++++++++

the pocket version should have a simultaneous release with the new version of the album. way less money.

I WANT IT MORE THAN I WANT SCARLETT JOHANNSON.

wow that's a lot!
ok... (not be outdone)
i want you to buy it more than i want scarlett johannsen!

Thanks

hey i added a little bit to that after the initial post

Awlsome! now i just need to find a way to get the cd considering i dont have a cedit card and my parents would rather burn in hell then buy it for me

lulu takes paypal too...?

Is that a Futurama reference in your response to svet?
If so, well done.

i don't think it was intentional, but so much futurama has passed thru my brain its entirely possible it came out all by itself

I'm buyin it. Right fucking now.
Lmao
Paypal better work...

THANKS! you rule

Yep... I ordered it and everything
Pwahahahahahahahahaha
(Jesus, shipping is expensive)

yeah... so sorry. i would make that cheaper if i could!

I will buy one, I'm pumped to buy one.
I just have to wait until my limit resets XD

awesome! thank you for the support!

I'd buy your album, but I don't have a CD player.

Vinyl all the way.

omfg dude if i could find a place to do it AND AFFORD IT i would! i love the sound of a fresh fuckin record

are you saying that people who ordered it in 2008 will get the fucked up version? and i want a booklet and a secret song!! this sucks... im sorry, i cant afford to buy every updated version of everything that you do ( not because ii don't support you, but because i want new wardrobe *-) well, anyway, its the beginning...of end? hopefully, you ARE that artist playing when the wind of the Apocalypse blows and melts our faces away! Tam-pam-pararam-tu-tu MEOWWWWWWWWWWW!

it's not totally fucked up, it's just some words covered with a barcode and the cd case spine text is off. no big deal, but yeah there will be a new version for 2009. actually that makes the present version (08) a limited edition first run. yeah, quality control in full effect.
the lyrics book is separate thing anyway.
and yeah i can only hope that i'm the #1 rock artist in the country or something the week that the world ends. if it all ends first, or i'm killed in the apocalypse (or in dc on 1/20) then well none of this matters. but if i'm killed and something of the present society still exists (and lulu is still in business) then well i'm a legend. either way.

Hey, you look a bit like Pete Townshend in that pic.

Awesome.

"and hey, don't buy it, buy it.... "-huh?
well, anyway, i bought the CD (2008 "limited edition")- didnt receive it yet. i do have a demo of yours (For LEsya's ears only)- so i guess i have the very limited edition, barcodes covering the words etc. sucks, but good luck w 2009+ editions.
you are so full of writer when it comes to the last stand artist- as long as it is not britney i dont care who that is...

heh, my mom was/is the same way, I am not allowed to have air soft guns apparently

I love the version of 'Saving Face Machine' on the Album. 'The Brink' sounds much better with the full guitars, instead of reduced quality versions to fit on Newgrounds. The 2 minute intro to 'Afterbirth' is epic! Overall a great album

I would rate it a 9/10.

got my CD today
the songs sound significantly (SP) better. The singing on SFM is a lot better too.
Everything sounds less, idk, flat?
anyway, I love it.

THANKS YOU!

I will eventually get your album.
I promise you.

oh man you went with scarlett johansen first didnt you! i knew it! :)

Well, you can't blame me.
Seriously, though, I have high expectations for this album.
It better be as awesome as Scarlett, or I'm disowning you.
But probably not.
But still. It should be at least better than Chinese Democracy.

omg is that all?
it's way better than chinese democracy. i don't know wtf axl was thinking, or why it took so long to fine-tune and expertly craft that piece of shit.
